Tekanyo (Pty) Ltd was founded in 2001 to take over the IT and hardware supply activities from P.I.G High Tech Computer Training (P.I.G). P.I.G. was formed in 1997 to provide PC training particularly to underprivileged persons in Mabopane and surrounding areas, and for this purpose it operated as Metro Training College - a franchise of a registered private college.

As the demand for IT and computer-related services increased, in 1999 P.I.G extended its range of services to include computer and hardware sales, installation and upgrading, networking and cabling solutions, onsite maintenance and the provision of PC training materials - books, software, etc.

While P.I.G. remains focused on its initial core business of PC training, on the back of consistently increasing demand, Tekanyo was registered to provide an extended range of complementary IT services. Tekanyo now boasts a highly successful five years of computer sales and maintenance services, attributed to the commitment and expertise of its dedicated workforce. The need for specialisation behind the creation of Tekanyo has given the company opportunities to increase employment opportunities and grow in a multitude of directions.
